Flashback Friday:: What I did this day six years ago.

I was doing this...

Outside it was doing this...

(if you can't tell, we had a monsoon in OHIO)

But it was all OK because the next day I did this...

Happy Anniversary Beej. I love you so much. You are my best friend, my soul mate and a wonderful Daddy to our beautiful daughter. Thanks for six (plus four) years. I love you.

p.s. Everybody check out Kenny (on the right) attempting to blow bubbles from the very, very small wand...I will get you to comment somehow ;)

Question for you srappy ladies

it is in the stores.
but i don't have it.
there are embarrassing pictures of me in it.
you would think that i stole them all.
so no one would get their hands on it.
but i didn't.
and i want it.

Project Runway

OK. So. Shelly has been bugging me to choose my favorites to win...SO hard, but here they are. First, I love Uli. I have loved everything she has done so far. Second, I really like Alison, although I just haven't seen enough to know if she will make it all the way. And third, I think I have to go with...ummmmm, hmmmmmm, I will go with Robert although I am not quite with him. I do really like Michael, but I don't think he will make it all the way.

Other news...who do you think will be the first to get kicked off of the show? My guess is Kevin. I have heard rumblings.

And wow. I can't believe I just devoted an entire post to this REALITY show. I am generally NOT a reality kind of girl, but come on. It IS Project Runway

Random thoughts about hairdryers, cell phones and other things.

1. Talking to Elizabeth last night *edit: the other day as I have tried in vain to post this FOREVER...I found that she calls CHA C-H-A instead of CHA as in CHA CHA CHA.
2. I also call my Book of Scraps my BOS. As in I BOSed you.
3. Lily turned 11 months old yesterday *edit: nope not yesterday, see #1 edit...we need to take pictures.
4. Have I told you about the man across the street from me who rototilled (if that is a word) his lawn...twice and it is growing back weedy? I still don't know why.
5. My old softball injury has been acting up lately.
6. Lily weighs over 18 pounds now.
7. Lily is teething...badly...and Lily is biting...HARD...any suggestions ladies?
8. Joanne ETC's descriptions/pictures on their website STINK. I tried three times to get the paper I wanted for some wedding invitations that I am making and it is STILL not right, but as they have to go out, I have to use it. So BEWARE.
9. How do you teach "indoor" voice to an 11 month old? Lily is SO loud sometimes.
10. Have you ever noticed that hairdryers and cell phones always seem to go out at the most inopportune times? I have bought a ridiculous amount of hairdryers in the past six years-too many to count. And cell phones? Yep, just as irritating. My cell phone stopped charging and despite my attempts to email a picture off of it before it died for good, I was unable. I know, those of you who know me know that I have a odd and passionate dislike of camera phones, but it is a picture of Bj at Hibatchi Japan the night before he became a father. I just really wish I had that picture.

On another note...or the same one, I remember the first time I got a *gasp* pager. The first time it vibrated on my hip it scared me half to death. I was so embarassed by my loud startle noise that I started giggling uncontrollably. I was in public. Then my first cell phone was super exciting as I had the same one as Carter on ER. I was TOO cool for school. Then we went through the period where two of them broke...stopped charging...oh wait, make that three. Oh well.

Happy birthday Daddy!!!!! I hope you have a wonderful day playing golf and hanging out with friends. Thank you so much for all of your help this year :)

Now for the fun little story.
The past two mornings when I picked Lily up out of her crib she has taken her binky out of her mouth and has dropped it in the crib. She knows-binkys are for bedtime only. SMART GIRL!!!

What I did tonight

when I finally got off my bum and stopped watching bad TV. My first Ali challenge from her book. The is based on a Jamie Waters LO. Don't have the book yet? Get it 'cause it is really cool...Elizabeth I swear I will mail yours soon :) So the challenge was grab random paper with your eyes closed. So maybe I cheated a came from my chatterbox scrap box-although there were some other papers in there so it counts. Right?

BTW, anyone know how to add the black border? It's fine here, but on 2peas looks a bit floaty...

The juicy details

So here they are. The juicy details of my class with Ali Edwards. It was awesome, amazing and so very freakin' cool. First let me start with the book signing where when I asked her to sign a copy of Elizabeth's book, she knew who Elizabeth was :)
She is so laid back, yet has so much energy. One of those people who Rachel, Missy, Shelly (make sure you click on her link 'cause she just did the COOLEST elsie there :) and I all thought "wow, we could be friends with her."

The class was to make a 4x4 MM tag book based on yesterday, today and tomorrow. I will try to get some scans of my book soon, but let's just say she had us emboss the cover then ink the negative space for a very cool effect. That really brought me back to my scrappy roots as I started this obsession way back in 1995 with embossing when gold, silver and black were your only choice. Let me tell you, when COPPER came out, I thought I would have a heart attack! Anyway, the class was very cool, learned some new things, but I think more importantly was inspired. To journal, to create, to well, clean my very messy craft room which is why I have been a bit late in posting this. The best part? Sure I was inpired by Ali. She is amazing and definately deserves to do what she gets to do, but I was really inspired by my girls. Mis, Rach, and Shelly. So nice to scrap with them. Share ideas, stories, laughs and odd pictures. So thanks girls. Would not have been the same without you. So, would you like to see some pictures now?

an update and a funny story

An update: Bj has actually updated his blog :)
A story: Bj had found my list of people attending our BBQ and saw a friends name and DH written next to it. He gave me a funny look and I said sheepishly "Oh that is just an abbreviation for dear husband." He said "OH! I always thought that meant designated hitter! I thought it meant that was the next person who was supposed to do something scrapbooky. Your designated hitter owes me a scrapbook page."

I got a giggle out of that one and thought...mmmmmhhhh, that would make some good blogfood :)
