Child of the 80's

I am a child of the 80's. VH1 can keep those I Love the 80's shows coming-even if I don't have the 3D glasses I still watch. I was all about Care Bears, Pound Purries (I was a cat person), pegging my pants, and wearing two pairs of socks at the same time (you know with black white and white black for the criss cross effect). I had a poof, wore at least two watches on each wrist and was all about everything jelly. I loved those slimey octopus things that you threw against the wall and they "walked" down (come to think of it I think they were called wall walkers), and I still cherish my Cabbage Patch Kid, Harold Vinnie. I love that they are bringing back all these toys that we used to play with. Why? Brilliant marketing plan-they got me! So if you are a child of the 80's and happened to have a TV, you may remember some of these shows. Not that we were allowed to watch that much, but there were some that I took with me. He-Man, and She-Ra, JEM, The Greatest American Hero, The Smurfs, 227, Amen, and Perfect Strangers. Are you humming their theme songs? You will if you go to this site http://www.retrojunk.com/ and you can relive your TV, Movie, and commercial childhood-complete with Matt LeBlanc and the Heinz 57 Ketchup Bottle commercial. Enjoy!

Happy REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY belated Four Month Birthday Lillian!

I know...she is five months on Saturday, but better late than never.

Addendum to "Talking to Sis"

So Bj took over my blog to post a picture while I was talking to Elizabeth, so the picture didn't quite get the exciting description that it deserved. For the first time I am getting a huge prize from Bj being the "adhesive man" of Stow. I got TONS of free stamps. Hee hee!!! So excited. As I have multiples of all, you never know if some lucky blog reader will get some in the mail...Hee hee!

Warning...

Bj sneezed. Three new posts!!!

The BAD day...

My biggest fear at the moment is trimming Lily's nails. My fears were validated yesterday as she jumped and I accidently cut skin. I have never felt so bad in my entire life. Is she ok? Yes. I just hope this isn't the thing that causes her to wear black lipstick and chains. You remember these things that your Mama does to you...like an accidental chin zippering...it's ok Mama, I think I turned out ok.

Why was it a super bad day? We had to call 911 yesterday for the fire department as the racoon who has decided to take up residence in our house decided to chew on wires to our ceiling fan in our living room. Either that or it was the fact he used it as a toilet. GROSS!!!!! So I heard the racoon, then a crackling kind of noise, then we smelled the electrical burning smell and Bj saw a wisp of smoke. So over to the phone he went as I ran Lily out of the room and got her bundled. Although it may not have warranted to sirens blaring, and the 10 handsome fire fighters at our house, they did find a hot spot with their infrared tool on our fan which they disconnected for us. So war has been declared on this racoon which I have seen face to face as he climbed up my tree in front of my house and walked across my roof to go home-into my home. No more irritating him with loud music when we leave, nope. This guy is leaving, one way or another. Matt, any ideas?
BTW anyone else things the title sounds like a Berenstain Bear book title?

~you get a big smile on your face when I say you better not take your binky out of your mouth...you dickins you.

~you can barely give me a dirty look when I put you down for your nap because your eyes just refuse to stay open any longer.

~you love getting zerberts on your belly and you laugh when I do it.

~your eyebrows are so expressive.

~you talk to yourself more and more.

~you are my sweet baby girl.
(I would insert a picture but my computer is still "stinkin'" and I am on Bj's right now.)

New signs Lily is growing up.

1. It gets much harder to burp her every day as now she is trying to stand or head butt me now.
2. New noises that are becoming increasingly ear piercing. She has a new "crow" sound that starts happy but can turn into a cry. Last night when I put her to bed she started crying-first normal, then raising in pitch to a hair-raising shriek.
3. She went to sleep the other day with no rocking, and no binkying. We of course had to check on her to see if she was ok.
4. She loves to hold things, (especially her keys) shake them, and make lots of noise with them.
5. She doesn't immediately start crying when I put her down for tummy time.
6. On December 30, she rolled over for the first time. Yes I may have put her down in such a way to "help" her along as she has not done it again, but that will come soon. Right?
7. She is in size 2 swaddlers.
8. She has outgrown all of her 0-3 month clothes and her 3-6 month clothes are getting tight.
9. Her feet are starting to hang out of her car seat.
10. When we go out people call her a cute baby-not an itty bitty...I think I am a little sad about that. She is growing up so fast!!!

God only knows what I'd do without you...

So Bj was on his way to the airport today and he heard a parody of a song that he couldn't quite place. He called me up and sang the melody and I said:
"Oh that's God only knows what I'd do without you. It's from Love Actually."

He said "Oh that's right. Good job for remembering that. I really like that song. Man I don't know if I am going to make it to the airport on time. If I run into any traffic, I don't think I will make it."

"Well at least you are only going to Akron Canton" I said.

"Akron Canton! Oh no! I am going to Cleveland!!!"

After a rocky start, he made it on time to the correct airport. What would he do without me...

Stinkin' Computer

So despite my attempts to keep my resolution and post more, I am having horrible problems with my computer. Despite being only three years old, it is already on the way out. A fan is broken on it and it takes about five minutes to do simple things like open word, open a webpage, or type something in. Something is hogging memory which I don't have much of anyway and must decide if it is worth getting fixed and spending more on it than it is probably worth, or just sucking it up and getting a new one. Elizabeth you are not helping by tempting me with your BEAUTIFUL Apple computer (The Taylors have been a Dell family). I promise I will try to get some more pictures up soon!

New Year's Resolutions

1. Update my blog more. (Sorry about the hiatus, the holidays seem to have gotten the better of me.)
2. Be more positive.
3. Exercise more.
4. Listen to more music.
5. Scrapbook more (and post more on 2peas-just for Susie!)
6. Read more.
7. Write more letters.
8. Sing more (and yes I sing to Lily all the time, I am talking about grown-up singing with melodies I don't make up.)
9. Kiss Bj & Lily more.
10. Tell my family I love them more.
I decided this year not to give things up as I tend to not be particularly disappointed if I fail. I want to do more of the things that I love to do anyway, well maybe I don't love to exercise...oh wait, be more positve. See it is working already.
