Ten on Tuesday

Went to Chautauqua this weekend with my church choir and thought I'd share some pictures
1. My beautiful friend Jenya.
2. Awwww...how sweet :)
3. The question is, does anyone REALLY need this much cream sauce??
4. Then the silliness started. Bj and Jenya got a little bored while waiting for dinner and thus SUPERBURSTY! was born. For the record I did not have anything to do with the creation of SUPERBURSTY! but I did participate in the pictures to follow.
5. SUPERBURSTY! in a precarious situation.
6. SUPERBURSTY! really enjoyed the Morman Tabernacle Choir.
7. Ok. So enough about SUPERBURSTY! So some more fun happenings at Chautauqua is the fact that I passed out. Yeah. Fun. At least we were right in front of the EMTs when it happened. And no, not pregnant.
8. So has everyone but me been watching The Office? I know, it took forever, but Bj and I have been catching up with the DVD's and oh my GOSH this show is SO FREAKING FUNNY. I was laughing so hard last night that it literally hurt. So if you haven't started watching, GO NOW.
9. Oh and How I Met Your Mother is out on DVD too. Go get that one too. TRUST ME.
10. Now for Lily's new words of the past few weeks: TaDa!, potty, Elmo, My (her version of Maya :) one and three (she already had two down,) Lily (but only in conversation, not when we ask her to say it,) and although she has been doing this for a while, she says yea every time she wants to do something. Do you want toast? yea. Do you want to go for a walk? yea. When we arrive at the pool...YEA! YEA! YEEEEEAAAAAA!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAA! at the top of her lungs :)

Heeelllllllooooooo!

Yes, I am in fact still here. We, yet again, have been busy, busy bees. Want to see some pictures? :)
1. We went to the zoo and saw elephants
This is Lily sitting on her Daddy's shoulders signing Giraffe.
One of my favorite shots of the day.
And finally a thinking monkey :)
And that was just friday!
2. On Saturday we had Lily's final babynastics class.
She tumbled
She did donkey kicks
She jumped
She got her trophy
So the beginning of this class we all sit in a circle and "stretch" and sing some songs with our children ON OUR LAPS. My sometimes painfully shy girl pitched an absolute FIT and refused to sit on my lap. In front of all the watching parents and grandparents and the other Saturday class Lily fussed her way out of my lap and plopped herself down in the middle of the circle and did all the stuff on her own. I always knew that with me and Bj as her parents we were in trouble, but oh goodness I am going to have to sit through a lot of shows with this one I think ;)
3. What next? Lily's first hair cut. SO thought I had a few more years before this look would come...
But the final result is quite cute (although where oh where has my little baby gone?)
4. On Sunday we had Grandma and BaBa over for a barbecue and I got to play with BaBa's new lens to his beautiful new camera. Don't worry I was standing on my own porch while I took this picture of my neighbor's scary, scary dogoh and it is one of EIGHT...two of which are pit bulls. Click on the picture to see details of this guy.

weekend

So update on naked Lily? I started friday morning by walking into her room to find her naked and in the MIDDLE of peeing. Great. We have been ok since then, although she keeps undoing her tabs but the diaper is still on.
What happened next in this fun morning? I dropped my contact. To most of you out there it is a no big deal-just grab another one. For me? This is my only pair of contacts because they are hard. But it has been my only pair of contacts since 2003 so perhaps it was time. But the exciting news is I will now be switching over to soft. Can't tell you how excited I am. Although I do have to deal with glasses for the next three weeks or so.
On a much sillier and lighter note, somehow Missy got me to "dance" in her recital and Shelly was there with her camera. GREAT.(layout by Shelly)

The good, the bad and the ugly

The good: My mom won the teacher of the year award today-so very much deserved. I am so proud of her for all of her hard work and dedication. Those kids certainly are lucky to have her as their librarian!

The bad: A perfect stranger said to me today..."oh are you expecting?" Actually I'm not thankyouverymuch.

The ugly: I walked into Lily's room this morning to find her STARK NAKED in her crib. No jammies, no diaper. NOTHING. Great. So glad she is learning how to take her clothes off. SO GLAD.

Ten on Tuesday

1. I love a clean room :)
2. I love getting things done on to do lists.
3. I love scrapping during naptime too. This is for the one little word blog 4. I really did have other things to do today besides scrapbook, but I HAD to try out my clean space don't you know.
5. I miss Grey's Anatomy
6. Sometimes I really wish you could see into our house sometimes. Namely when my darling husband makes up songs about toast. Seriously. Complete with choreography.
7. But then you could see that I really need to do laundry. And dust. And clean out my closets. And about a million other things. Never mind. Just take my word that it was stinking hilarious.
8. Anyone else miss Elizabeth's photo of the day?
9. Lily has a crazy Mama (me going down the slide at the park the other day...)
10. An there's Lily, waking up from her nap-off I go!

new and improved and with fresh lemon scent

1. My VERY clean desk. I do wonder when it will look this good again.
2. One of my all time favorite purchases ever, my library card organizer, cork boards and my new clock...I think aqua is officially my new favorite color.
3. My VERY organized ribbon...well the scraps anyway. The other stuff is organized into individual bags and on jump rings by ROYGBV. I told you I've been busy.
4. My "m" collection and two vintage cameras. An old 8mm movie camera and an old polaroid-for the record at most they are worth $20. Oh well.
5. Some "junk"
6. Peace-my word from 2007
7. Grandma Watson's Buttons
8. And finally, where all the time sucking comes from. For the record I desperately need to get a real computer desk. I am currently using a card table and it shakes when I type.

so funny i have to blog it.

So have I told you all the story of Bj and his arch nemesis Robert Goulet?

For those of you who don't know, Bj and I were the leads in South Pacific when we were in High School. So when we saw that South Pacific was coming to Cleveland we of course had to go see it. What a thrill! Yes we are dorks. Anyway, Robert Goulet was starring as Emile de Becque. OK whatever-he was good, but as we had just done the musical we knew that he dropped some lines, changed some lines and sang a few things down an octave. Tisk tisk. OK so we were a bit snooty about the integrity of the characters. So after the show we decided to join the sea of blue haired ladies to meet Mr. Goulet. We got to the table. We had our programs ready to go. Cheesy smiles on our faces, and Bj spoke...

"Hello. We really enjoyed the show. Me and her just got done performing it at our high school."

And Robert Goulet said in a very sing songy voice "Well I hope you used better grammar than that!"

There it was. The sentence that sent Bj into a downward spiral of hatred and loathing for Robert Goulet. This joke has stood the test of time. Twelve years later and we still make reference to it. In fact this Christmas I gave Bj a shirt that said GOULET! He often says with fist raised, "Robert Goulet Robert Goulet I'll get you Robert Goulet!"

But thankfully I have discovered Mr. Goulet's kryptonite. Emerald Nuts. Go here for a commercial that had me laughing so hard that my stomach hurt. I guess we are going to be buying stock in these babies!

For the record...Bj is actually quite smart and rarely makes grammatical errors. It was just the "celebrity" sitting in front of him that caused the momentary lapse.

And I wonder if Robert Goulet ever "googles" his name? We may be in trouble.
